Marisa St. George is devastated when she is a victim of downsizing and has no choice but to return to the small Texas town where she grew up. Though it’s a giant step backward, she accepts a position as business manager at the struggling Rainbow’s End resort. The only silver lining is Blake Kendall, a new guest who is making her believe in love at first sight. But will her dreams of happily-ever-after be turned upside down when she discovers who he really is?
A story about Marissa St George. Everything is changing and not for the best. She has lost her money in finding her father and lost her job all in one day, which means that Marissa has to move back to her small town home in Texas. Then we have Blake Kendall, who happens to be a writer with a bad case of writer’s block so he is going to stay at Rainbow’s End resort which his friend owns. When Marissa and Blake meet they both feel an attraction towards each other. But they both have secrets which could break them apart from each other. Even though the book is mostly about Marissa and Blake, there also happens to be a second love story between Marissa’s best friend, Lauren, and Drew.
The story is well written and the characters are well rounded. Each of the characters have their own flaws and they are working on opening themselves up for love and forgiveness, but some struggle more than others. I like how real they seem and filled with human flaws. It makes you connect with the characters more.
This book did take me a little longer to read because I had a hard time getting into the story, but once I clicked into the story I could not put it down until I finished it. Just be prepared since the story touches on some topics such as alcoholics and bullying.
I received this book through Revell Reads Blogger Tour in an exchange for an honest review.
